Our Family Co-ordinator – Here for You Every Step of the Way

Building Strong Partnerships with Families

Family Co-ordinator 2At Canterbury Road Day Nursery, we place strong importance on building meaningful partnerships with our families. To support this, we are proud to have a dedicated Family Co-ordinator, Dionne, who is here to walk alongside you from the moment you join our nursery and throughout your child’s early years journey with us.

Meet Dionne, Our Family Co-ordinator

Dionne has been part of our nursery team for over five years and is a mum of three, bringing both valuable experience and heartfelt understanding to her role. She is deeply passionate about involving families in every aspect of nursery life, ensuring that you feel connected, informed, and supported from the very beginning.

A Smooth and Personalised Start

When a family first joins us, Dionne carefully plans settling-in sessions tailored to your child’s needs. She conducts the first settle alongside parents, creating a calm and reassuring space where you are invited to stay, complete necessary paperwork, and begin building a relationship with our team. These early steps help lay the foundation for a strong, confident start at nursery.

To keep families informed and involved, Dionne shares regular weekly Top Tips and monthly newsletters packed with helpful guidance linked to children’s learning, development, and health. She also organises welcoming meetings for new families, offering a friendly introduction to nursery life and a chance to ask any questions you may have.

Family Co-ordinator 3Connecting Home and Nursery

Dionne plays a key role in strengthening the home–nursery connection by planning Stay and Play sessions, where parents and carers are invited into nursery to engage in activities with their children. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to see your child in their nursery environment and be part of their learning experiences.

Family Voice and Community Involvement

She also runs termly Family Representative Meetings, inviting families to volunteer as part of this group. These sessions are a chance to share ideas, discuss upcoming events, and give feedback—ensuring that parent voice plays a meaningful part in shaping our nursery community.

Celebrating Progress and Growth

Twice a year, Dionne organises Parents’ Evenings, where families can meet with their child’s key person to discuss progress, celebrate achievements, and set goals for future learning.

Supporting School Transitions

As children prepare for their next big step, Dionne supports the transition to school with great care. She plans and hosts a School Information Event for parents, helping to make the process as smooth and informed as possible. To celebrate this milestone, she also organises a joyful Graduation Party, creating lasting memories for both children and families.

Always Here for You

At Canterbury Road Day Nursery, we believe children thrive when their families feel included and supported. With Dionne as your Family Co-ordinator, you’ll always have someone ready to listen, guide, and help every step of the way.
